Itinerary
The 4-day tour of the Morocco Sahara desert via Ouarzazate and kasbahs departs from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech at 8:00 in the morning, with a pickup by an air-conditioned and comfortable vehicle and a drive towards the Atlas Mountains. Our next stop will be Tichka Pass to take some beautiful photos of the amazing landscape, then continue to reach the fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou and its surroundings, explore the fortified village, marked as a world heritage site by UNESCO since 1987, then lunch on the site while we admire one of the most fascinating places. After lunch, our journey continues by road to reach El Kalaa M’gouna, the capital of the rose, continuing through the road of 1000 kasbahs, enjoying the beautiful architecture of the Jewish tradition. It is by the valley of the Roses and its sublime panoramas on the mountains ochres and roses cut by the valley of Dades, which gives life to luxuriant vegetation to which cling many small traditional Berber villages. Drive along the green valley to reach the top of the Dades gorges, where we will spend an overnight accommodation with dinner and breakfast in a guest house, riad, or hotel.
Following a customary breakfast at your accommodation, we will continue our four-day desert vacation to Merzouga, where we will stroll through the Todra Gorges and the lush Tinghir palm grove, which is around thirty kilometers long. The river's water is dispersed across the palm grove via the canals because its source is rocks in the gorges. Proceed east toward Tafilalet, where ancient caravans gathered. After lunch at a neighborhood eatery, you continue on to Erfoud, a city famous for its Goniatite quarries, which are made of petrified black marble. Following an optional visit to a fossil site, we will drive on to the Erg Chebbi and Merzouga enormous sand dunes, some of which are 250 meters high. Take a camel ride (about one and a half hours) to see the stunning sunset over the dunes before spending a night in a Berber tent, having a Moroccan traditional dinner, and enjoying music and folklore at night under the stars.
NB: If you book a luxury tour, then you will have breakfast and shower at the desert camp; otherwise, the breakfast and the shower will be at the hotel after your camel rides back in the morning.
A new adventure desert tour to explore the wonders of the Sahara, a full-day tour to enjoy the splendor of Erg Chebbi and its dunes, including the option of a quad biking tour to stroll the dunes (optional), followed by a visit to the nomads and an exploration of their hidden, quiet life, begins with an early wake-up to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and an unusual breakfast in a Berber tent. From there, you will meet your driver/guide again after returning to the hotel in Merzouga village. Lunch at a nearby restaurant, then we will continue our exploration by visiting the Gnaoua village, which is home to Black people who are originally from the sub-Saharan region. We will spend some time there listening to their music before returning by car to the hotel. You will have the chance to go sandboarding in the afternoon or simply unwind at your hotel and spend time in the pool. Spend an overnight accommodation with dinner and breakfast in a guest house, riad, or hotel.
Following a typical breakfast at your accommodation, drive via the Anti-Atlas Mountains' Bougafer massif and the city of Risani, the birthplace of the Alawite royal dynasty, before stopping in N'kob for lunch. After lunch, we will drive through Ouarzazate and across the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech by the end of the afternoon, passing through the breathtaking scenery and Berber regions of the Draa Valley. This desert tour ends with drop-off at your accommodation or airport transfer in the city of Marrakech.
