Itinerary

After meeting you at the airport or at your place of accommodation in Tangier, Morocco's northern port facing Spain, we will drive through the Rif highlands, which are home to Berber settlements and valleys. The Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen, is tucked away in these highlands. Chefchaouen, one of Morocco's most attractive cities, is a photographer's paradise and a fascinating destination to visit. It is renowned for its white and blue houses, narrow squares, twisting alleyways, and blue-painted stairways. With twelve mosques and shrines, the holy city is a cheerful place with paved streets that lead to a number of shaded squares. Spend the night and get breakfast at a hotel, riad, or guest house.

You take a guided city tour of Chefchaouen after breakfast at your place of accommodation, and then you have the entire day to explore and stroll around the Medina. Admire the amazing blue walls that have made this city renowned, learn about the town's history, and uncover its hidden treasures. Enjoy a walking tour of the Medina's charming little streets with your knowledgeable guide. You will see the main square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and explore local shops and cafes. If you want to learn more about the culture, you might want to visit the Great Mosque, the Kasbah Museum, or the Ethnographic Museum, which has old weapons, musical instruments, and Old City photos. The Ras Elma River, which flows through the ancient town, is another place you can stop. Spend the night with breakfast at a hotel, riad, or guest house.

Have your breakfast at your place of accommodation, then we depart the blue city and journey through the region's breathtaking scenery. Until we arrive at Ouazzane, which is home to some of Morocco's greatest honey and figs, we pass fields of wheat, wildflowers, and traditional metal-roofed homes. A tour to the Roman Ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO site, comes next. There are several streets, buildings, columns, mosaics, and a massive doorway among the large excavations. This significant city, which was first established in 225 BC, offers a fascinating window into Roman life in the area. You will discover all about its significance and history with your guide. We then drive to the imperial city of Meknes, which was established as a military settlement by the Almoravides dynasty in the eleventh century and developed into a metropolis under Sultan Moulay Ismail in the seventeenth century. With the enormous Bab Mansour, the walls, the granary, the Sahrij Swani Basin for storing water, the plantation, and a gate with elaborate mosaic, or Zellige, he introduced a Hispano-Morish architectural style. After touring the stunning city of Meknes, we continue on to Fes, the spiritual capital, where we spend the night with breakfast in a hotel, riad, or guest house.

You have a guided city tour of Fes after breakfast at your place of accommodation. Thanks to its many mosques, Medersas, walls and fortifications, fortified gateways, mausoleums, palaces, and squares, this city, which is a thousand years old and a cultural and spiritual capital, has effortlessly been taken away through its past. A guided tour of the Andalusian neighborhoods, the Moulay Idriss zaouïa, the Marinids necropolis, the El Attarin Madrassah, and the noble Karaouyine will provide you the points of reference you need to examine the city of Fassie's religious and cultural heritage. With your guide, have lunch at a Moroccan restaurant. The atmosphere of the souks makes Fez a haunting city as well! Allow your senses to carry you away as you lose yourself in the vibrant, cacophonous maze with delicate or delicious scents. To learn all the traditional secrets of eastern beauty, don't miss the henna souk. Explore the souk el-Attarine, a spectacular concentration of all the hues and fragrances of spices, for a feast for the senses. Go up the terraces of the leather goods businesses to get a panoramic view of the multicolored dye pools that are so beautiful and to get away from the lingering smells of the tanners' district. Spend the night with breakfast at a hotel, riad, or guest house.

Drive you through the Middle Atlas via Ifran, "Moroccan Switzerland," and Azrou after breakfast at your place of accommodation. You will meet Barbary apes on your visit to the Cedre Gouraud tree in the cedar forest. We next traveled south past a number of villages, where you might have seen nomads residing in tents by the side of the road. Volcanic rocks are also visible. You can have lunch at Midelt, our next destination. We then proceed, taking in the expansive vistas as we pass the TiziN'Talghomt (1907 m).
