Itinerary
The full day trip to Ourika valley waterfalls departs from your accommodation in Marrakech at 9:00 a.m and head south to enjoy the beauty and splendour of the Ourika Valley. The drive is normally an hour and a half long, but there are so many other things to see along the way that we will stop at regular intervals to enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful Ourika Valley. As we head from Marrakech to the waterfalls of the Ourika Valley you will see lush green hillsides, Berber villages and rolling hills. There are rivers that meander through the valley here, and you will have unlimited opportunities to take pictures of the stunning landscapes. We will stop at some of these typical Berber villages so you can immerse yourself in the daily life of the locals. As we continue our journey through the valley, we will begin to approach the more mountainous passes of the Atlas Mountains on our way to Setti Fatma. There are numerous small (and some larger) waterfalls along the road, and not all of them are packed with tourists.
You can visit a group of Berber women to learn how they process the kernels of Argan trees, producing golden and thick argan oil. If you’re visiting on Saturday or Friday, explore the weekly Berber market in the village, the perfect place to find unique souvenirs from the area Just. Remember to bring hiking boots to enjoy a guided trek with a local mountain guide to discover the seven waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains. You had better bring your camera, as this experience can only be captured for memories. The hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls goes through the valley, once you get back, you shall enjoy a traditional Tajine by the river on a panoramic terrace in one of the restaurants. Next, you can visit a Berber family house and have a fresh mint tea if the time permits. After that we take the road back to Marrakech, this excursion ends with drop-off at your accommodation in town approximately at 05:00 PM.
